The Illinois Public Health Institute (IPHI) has extensive experience working with local health departments on Performance Management and Quality Improvement.  With the new opportunities for accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), IPHI is providing training to health departments across the state related to:

  • Basic concepts and principles of Performance Management and Quality Improvement (QI)
  • In-depth and interactive training on implementing QI initiatives at the health department or within the local public health system
  • The PHAB domains and steps for accreditation readiness

Below are descriptions of 3 courses:

  • Performance Management Overview
  • Quality Improvement 101
  • Building a Quality of Culture

Each course builds on the previous one. However, each course can be completed independently and learners can earn a Certificate of Complete for each course.

 

COURSE OVERVIEW:

During this session, participants will dive into the PHAB guidance regarding an organizational performance management system. Practical tools and processes will be shared that have been effectively used by peer health departments. Presenter Laurie Call will share lessons learned and strategies to overcoming common challenges in developing and maintaining a performance management system that monitors progress of organizational objectives.

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the components of a performance management system.
  2. Understand the PHAB guidance regarding a performance management system.
  3. Identify tools and resources to support the development of a performance management system.
  4. Describe strategies for overcoming barriers and challenges in developing and maintaining a performance management system.
