About Us

The MidAmerica Center for Public Health Practice (MCPHP)* and the Great Lakes Centers (GLC) jointly support PublicHealthLearning.com, a training resource for the public health community in Illinois, the Midwest, and beyond. Whether you are new to the field of public health, or an established professional with many years of experience, you will find training suited to your needs at PublicHealthLearning.com.

PublicHealthLearning.com offers a publicly-accessible learning management system (LMS) that houses training opportunities offered by Public Health Training Centers (PHTCs), Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Centers (PERLCs), and outside partner organizations. These organizations offer most courses free of charge, and PublicHealthLearning.com is free for anyone to join and use.

PublicHealthLearning.com also provides you with tools to track professional development, and to store information about training you complete both within the LMS and elsewhere. You can use these tools to document meeting requirements for your job, credits towards a certification, or just progress towards your personal development goals.

Take the first step by registering today. Please note: If you were previously registered in Public Health Learning.com, you will need to re-register.

* MCPHP houses the Mid-America Public Health Training Center (MAPHTC) and the Illinois Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center (IPERLC). Principle funding for the MAPHTC is provided through a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services. Funding for the IPERLC is provided by grant #5U90TP000412 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
